Tower
Yes, she built it herself! A budding Frank Lloyd Wright?
Alternate biblical caption:
"1 And the whole earth was of one language, and of one speech. 2 And it came to pass, as they journeyed from the east, that they found a plain in the land of Shinar; and they dwelt there. 3 And they said one to another, Go to, let us make brick, and burn them thoroughly. And they had brick for stone, and slime had they for mortar. 4 And they said, Go to, let us build us a city and a tower, whose top may reach unto heaven; and let us make us a name, lest we be scattered abroad upon the face of the whole earth. 5 And the Lord came down to see the city and the tower, which the children builded. 6 And the Lord said, Behold, the people is one, and they have all one language; and this they begin to do: and now nothing will be restrained from them, which they have imagined to do. 7 Go to, let us go down, and there confound their language, that they may not understand one another's speech. 8 So the Lord scattered them abroad from thence upon the face of all the earth: and they left off to build the city. 9 Therefore is the name of it called Babel (confusion); because the Lord did there confound the language of all the earth: and from thence did the Lord scatter them abroad upon the face of all the earth."
Quality you can taste
Today, while driving through Pacific Beach, Melanie saw a billboard for In-n-Out Burgers. "Mommy, that's a big hamgerber!" she is rumored to have exclaimed.
PS. "Hamgerber" isn't a typo on my part. Rather that's how Melanie says "hamburger". Other syllabically confused words include her favorite foods, "bananana" and "balanoney", and those pink birds that greet you at the San Diego Zoo, "falamingos".
Back on the Chain Gang
Today was my first day at my new, old job as I have accepted a position at Active.com.
They got in touch with me about 10 days ago, and after a whirlwind courtship, I've returned to where I worked for the last six years - bar the last six months. I'll be developing and "webmastering" Active's redesigned site that will be coming soon.
So thanks to all of you that helped me in my search. And wish me luck!

El Paso
Click on the photo above to see a couple of photos from our trip to El Paso. This one is of the "last" page (pages were being added as great-grand children were born, etc) of the album Aunt Ellie made for Grandpa Julie. He loved it and would take it around with him, even at the nursing home in his last days. We got to enjoy it, and many other less-flattering photos of ourselves from the '70s and '80s, when we were there last weekend.
If anyone has other photos or video, I would love to add them. I have video of Jared singing but am having difficulty posting the full video as it's too big. I will have to try to edit it before posting.
